R3 Mogno represents a specialized entity withinthe purview of wood products sourced from thevast woodlands under the Montesanto TavaresGroup's umbrella.Our corporate ethos places paramountimportance on sustainability, and our strategicobjective lies in the mitigation of demand for,and the curbing of deforestation in, the nativeforests that cater to the market.Inaugurated in the year 2023, our inception wasdriven by the noble mission of elevating AfricanMahogany products to the forefront, with aunique emphasis on timber originating fromBrazilian plantations.

What we do?

We operate throughout the entire forest supply chain, from the planting of sustainable African mahogany forests; maintenance of forests generating income through their consortia with agricultural and livestock products; ecologically correct extraction of timber, processing, and certified commercialization.The R3 Magno brand will always ensure the quality of the wood sourced from Atlântica Agro, Floresta da Canastra, and MGX, the large farms that house the plantations and operations. From now on, and over the coming years, these forests will bring to market 180,000 m³ of African mahogany, creating a steady supply that customers can rely on as raw material for the manufacture of various products.

Beneficiation

Wood processing is a set of techniques that transforms raw timber into a high-quality raw material for various purposes in industries and applications.
Atlântica Agro will be the first of the three forests from the Montesanto Tavares Group to supply African mahogany for processing. From safe harvesting, sawmilling, kiln drying with controlled humidity, to grading the wood into categories, they are able to deliver a high-quality timber that is ready for use.

O Mogno Africano

A term encompassing species within theKhaya genus, exhibits distinct characteristicsin its mature stage. It boasts an impressiveheight, surpassing 30 meters, with a straighttrunk, expansive branches, and a robust rootsystem. The Diameter at Breast Height (DAP)measures between 40 to 50 centimeters.Originating from the African continent, thisspecies has seamlessly acclimated to theBrazilian soil and climate conditions. With arapid growth rate, it reaches maturity at amere 18 to 20 years of age, demonstratingremarkable resilience to varying weatherconditions. The lush canopy of these treesoffers ample shade and habitat for the localfauna and flora within its ecosystem.

The Wood

Soft wood, easy to work with and highlydurable. In young age, it has a color inlight tones and is easy to dye, and inadulthood, a pinkish to reddish tonepredominates. In addition to its peculiarcoloring, it has cathedrals in itscharacteristics that give a uniquedesign to the products in which it isused.It has a very diversified commercial usein civil construction in floors, ceilings,doors, windows, as well as in the luxurymarket, in furniture, interior finishes inpanels and laminates, musicalinstruments and many other uses.
