R3 Mogno

R3 Mogno represents a specialized entity within the purview of wood products sourced from the vast woodlands under the Montesanto Tavares Group's umbrella. Our corporate ethos places paramount importance on sustainability, and our strategic objective lies in the mitigation of demand for, and the curbing of deforestation in, the native forests that cater to the market. Inaugurated in the year 2023, our inception was driven by the noble mission of elevating African Mahogany products to the forefront, with a unique emphasis on timber originating from Brazilian plantations.

What we do?

We operate throughout the entire forest supply chain, from the planting of sustainable African mahogany forests; maintenance of forests generating income through their consortia with agricultural and livestock products; ecologically correct extraction of timber, processing, and certified commercialization. The R3 Mogno brand will always ensure the quality of the wood sourced from Atlântica Agro, Floresta da Canastra, and MGX, the large farms that house the plantations and operations. From now on, and over the coming years, these forests will bring to market 180,000 m³ of African mahogany, creating a steady supply that customers can rely on as raw material for the manufacture of various products.

Our Farms

Beneficiation

Wood processing is a set of techniques that transforms raw timber into a high-quality raw material for various purposes in industries and applications.
Atlântica Agro will be the first of the three forests from the Montesanto Tavares Group to supply African mahogany for processing. From safe harvesting, sawmilling, kiln drying with controlled humidity, to grading the wood into categories, they are able to deliver a high-quality timber that is ready for use.

O Mogno Africano

A term encompassing species within the Khaya genus, exhibits distinct characteristics in its mature stage. It boasts an impressive height, surpassing 30 meters, with a straight trunk, expansive branches, and a robust root system. The Diameter at Breast Height (DAP) measures between 40 to 50 centimeters. Originating from the African continent, this species has seamlessly acclimated to the Brazilian soil and climate conditions. With a rapid growth rate, it reaches maturity at a mere 18 to 20 years of age, demonstrating remarkable resilience to varying weather conditions. The lush canopy of these trees offers ample shade and habitat for the local fauna and flora within its ecosystem.

The Wood

Soft wood, easy to work with and highly durable. In young age, it has a color in light tones and is easy to dye, and in adulthood, a pinkish to reddish tone predominates. In addition to its peculiar coloring, it has cathedrals in its characteristics that give a unique design to the products in which it is used. It has a very diversified commercial use in civil construction in floors, ceilings, doors, windows, as well as in the luxury market, in furniture, interior finishes in panels and laminates, musical instruments, and many other uses.
